About the Book:

The phrase “soul-making” comes from the poet John Keats, who struggled with the world’s random and meaningless suffering, and believed that tragedies were the crucible in which the soul is forged and refined.

Part memoir and part self-help book, this is the deeply personal story of one woman’s soul-making journey framed around the ideas of Carl Gustav Jung and spiritual practices.

Readers are invited to think about their own lives in a new way, to be curious about the deeper threads that run through their existence, and to embark on their own soul-making journey.

This Jungian Analyst demonstrates how redemption is found through self-knowledge, the expansion of consciousness, and most importantly, through the cultivation of the heart.

About Christina

A Personal Invitation From Christina

Life challenges and shapes us in ways we cannot always see at the moment or understand as we are travelling through them. Soul-Making is my deeply personal journey through loss, addiction, and spiritual rediscovery. I found my way through tragedy in the context of Jungian psychology and the wisdom of Sophia.

Writing this book was a healing process and a demonstration of soul-making; exploring what is the meaning of suffering and how do I find my way through?

My invitation—to you— is to reflect on your own path. We all experience moments that break us open, yet within them lies the potential for transformation.

Join me in exploring the power of resilience, meaning-making, and the unseen forces that guide us toward wholeness and the making of soul.

Soul-making is a compelling and courageous account of a deeply personal and meaningful journey. From the onset, we are captured, joining the author on our own soul-making path alongside her as she willingly opens the difficult doors of the past. Beautifully written and creatively conceived around Jung’s Analytical Psychology, Christina Becker presents us with an honest gift from her return from the underworld that truly celebrates the mystery of love, suffering, and transformation.

Nora Swan-Foster, Jungian Analyst, Author Jungian Art Therapy: Images, Dream and Analytical Psychology

This book is a journal of soul moments in the perilous but enriching experience of moving from trauma to wholeness. I was especially moved by the grace and candidness of Christina’s descriptions of her journey. She opened some places in me that I now feel I can trust as tools not as obstacles.

David Richo: Author of By Your Side: How to Find Soulful Allies and Become One to Others (Shambhala, 2024)

Soul-Making is intensely honest, intimate, and heartfelt. Christina generously invites us into her inner life, while also showing us how her story connects with universal themes. I was genuinely moved.

Lisa Marchiano, Jungian Analyst and author of The Vital Spark and Motherhood, Podcaster: This Jungian Life, and Author: DREAM WISE: Unlocking the Meaning of Your Dreams

Soul-making: A Journey of Resilience and Spiritual Rediscovery is a compelling read. I couldn’t put it down; it drew me in and kept me wanting to continue, because I could sense the connecting patterns. The book masterfully interweaves the memories and story with the psychological practical teachings that we can apply to our lives.
